"M.P. Fromme Rites Were Held Friday At Barkley Chapel"

"Funeral services for M.P. Fromme were held Friday, March 24, in the chapel of Barkley Funeral home in Canton, with the Rev. Otton Steinhaus and the Rev. V.T. Wood officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Earl Barkley at the organ. Masonic rites were held Thursday night at the Barkley Funeral home.

"Pall bearers were Gilbert Johnson, Richard Williams, Ivan Kennedy, Jim Rogers, Clark Wood and Audrain McReynolds. Burial was in the National cemetery at Keokuk.

"Mr. Fromme died in Blessing hospital in Quincy on March 22. He had been a patient in the hospital since January 4.

"Moritz Paul Fromme, the son of Henry W. and Mary Fromme, was born at Mullinville, Kans., on October 30, 1895. He was united in marriage to Myra Stone at Greensburg, Kans., on June 13, 1921.

"Mr. Fromme farmed near Canton until his health failed. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Otto Bruner post of American Legion and the Masonic lodge.

"He was a member of the Canton Methodist church.

"Survivors include his wife; a son, Dr. Donald Karl Fromme, and his wife of Weisbaden, Germany; a daughter, Mrs. Myra Polinger of Menlo Park, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nancy Fromme of Iowa City, Ia.; six grandchildren; a brother, R.H. Fromme of Plains, Kans.; two sisters, Mrs. Olia Christofer and Mrs. Violet Fink, both of Bucklin, Kans.; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Capt. Paul M. Fromme; a sister; and a brother."
