"Mayor of Coleman Died Monday at 1:30 a.m. - The entire citizenship of Coleman laments the death of Ex-Mayor J. A. B. Miller, which occurred at the family residence in this city Monday, June 14th, at 1:30 o'clock a. m.

"Mr. Miller was a true type of the Southern gentleman, courteous, chivalrous and at all times hones and generous in his dealings with men. For many years a citizen of Coleman he had been identified with and a leader in all the movements of its progress. It was a fitting tribute that all the merchants and business men of Coleman should close their places of business for two hours Monday afternoon out of respect to the memory of Coleman's ex-Mayor.

"Decedent was born at Minden, La., November 27th, 1864. His father, Rev. John A. Miller, was a Methodist preacher, having been active in the ministry for fifty-four years.

"Mr. Miller was identified with the Presbyterian church. The pastor, Rev. F. S. Henderson, conducted the funeral services at the family residence Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Following the services at the residence the remains were taken in charge by the local lodge, Knights of Pythian, and buried with the honors of that fraternal order.

"Decedent is survived by his wife and seven children, viz: J. P. Miller, Louis, Claude, Mattie B., Paul, Doris and Morris."
