Beloved husband of Candace C. (Rooker) Day whom he married on Nov. 24, 1864. They had two children: Mrs. Nellie E. Barnett, and Frank Rooker Day, the latter of whom preceded his father in death by two years and nine days.
He was a member of the Society of Friends. Joined I.O.O.F. on November 9, 1864.
Nathan had been confined to his home for about fourteen weeks and died at the age of 57 years, 10 months, 19 days. He was survived by his wife Candace, daughter Nellie E. (Mrs. James A.) Barnett; and 2 granddaughters.
Buried in the family plot at Mooresville cemetery.
