William A. Vandivier served in the military in 1864/65 in Civil War. He joined for duty and was enrolled as a drafted private of Co K, 12 the Regiment, Indiana Volunteers at Washington Twp, Morgan Co, IN on the 22 day of September 1864 by Captain Brayden. He was duly mustered into military service of the United States of Indianapolis, Indiana on the 22 day of September 1864 for the term of one year only by Captain Brayden, United States Mustering Officer.

Said William Vandivier was born in Johnson Co, IN, was 31 years old at the time of his enlistment and was by occupation a farmer.

He died at Wilmington, NC on 20 March 1865 and was buried there. Grave site unknown.
