He was born September 17, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of the late Mildred (Stephens) Hale.
He was a graduate of Central Dauphin High School, Class of 1956, and a member of the 211th EI Squadron, Pennsylvania Air National Guard for 27 years, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant.
He was an active member of the Lewisberry Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Carl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bonita L. (Canfield) Shaver; two sons, Carl H Shaver, Jr. and wife Evelyn of Mechanicsburg, PA and Eric G. Shaver and wife Valerie, of Carlisle, PA; nine grandchildren, Joshua E. Shaver, Anissa R. Shaver, Ashley L. Weakland, Bruce E. Hockensmith, Courtney A. Young, Zachary C. Shaver, Tyler R. Shaver, Cassandra L Keiser, and Jesse A. Keiser; four great-grandchildren, Morgan S. Shaver, Emelio J. Colon, Giselle A. Colon, and Mason L. Weaver.
A viewing will be held at 9:00 am March 22, 2011, at the Lewisberry Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 800 Pleasant Dr., York Haven, PA 17370.
Funeral Services will be held at the church at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow at Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill, PA.
