Daughter Fatally Burned

Andrews March 17 Thetis Cox aged 6 daughter of Elijah Cox of earls was fatally burned Thursday afternoon last at the home of the parents death resulting early Friday morning.

At the moment of the accident the little girl was alone in the kitchen and it is not known definitely just how she became involved in flame of the the stove but in response to her cries her mother who was some little distance away in the yard rushed into the kitchen to find the little girl enveloped in flames. Mrs Cox struggles frantically to extinguish the flames which she finally accomplished with the help of her son who had also come to their assistance but the child was so badly burned the there was no hope of its recovery. Mrs Cox was severely burned particularly about the hands and arms and is still suffering greatly from these wounds.

Funeral services and interment of the little girl were held at Harmony Methodist Church at Earls the Rev BG Murphy of Andrews Methodist Church officiating.
