MACON Bessie Cox Thompson, 84, died Sunday, June 29, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery (North Gate). Dr. Marcus Tripp and Rev. James Duke will officiate. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home and asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Vineville United Methodist Church, Organ Fund, 2045 Vineville Avenue, Macon 31204. Mrs. Thompson was born in Earles, SC and was a homemaker. She was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church and the Ed Cook Sunday School Class. Mrs. Thompson was the widow of Roy A. Thompson and the daughter of the late Elijah Cox, Jr. and Lillie Ackerman Cox. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie D. Thompson and Ellen of Macon; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Thompson Riddle and Bob of McDonough; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Agnes Ann Roberts of Macon; brother, Bobby Elijah Cox of Andrews, SC; sister-in-law, Aleen Cox Crosby of Andrews, SC; several nieces and nephews.
