Cyrenus Abbott Mapes was born July 20, 1869 in Gregory, Livingston Co., Michigan, the son of Charles D. and Sarah (Abbott) Mapes. He was named after his maternal grandfather Cyrenus Abbott. He married Annabelle Hemingway daughter of Silas and Martha Hemingway on Oct. 22, 1890. They had no children. The siblings of Cyrenus were:

Interment was at Plainfield Cemetery. Dale, Burtis, Charles and Robert Sweet acting as pall bearers.
