MRS. ANNIE SHELLEY
Mrs. Annie Shelley of Hillsboro died early Friday morning, January 18, in a local hospital. She was born December 11, 1894, in the Prairie Valley community near Whitney, the daughter of Oliver and Mattie Worley Wallace, and had lived in the most of her life. She had been a resident of Hillsboro 20 years and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hillsboro. She first married Bill Simmons and after his death, she married W.A. Shelley who died in 1953. Mrs. Shelley was also preceded in death by five children. Survivors include four sons, Milton Simmons of Fort Worth, William (Bill) Shelley of Vernon, Lewis Oliver of Olney and Charlie Shelley of Hillsboro; two daughters, Viola Shelley Booth of Whitney and Sarah Shelley Pelham of San Antonio; two sisters, Frances Overton and Leone Ivy both of Whitney; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 19, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsboro with the Rev. H.E. Walker and Rev. Eddie Booth officiating. Burial was at Whitney Cemetery.
