Maxine Stamps-Chinnock was the only daughter born to Jeff and Rivvie Beauchamp-Stamps. She had two brothers, William Franklin and Edward Stamps. However, young Edward was crippled and did not survive.

As a young woman, she moved north to Detroit, Michigan and married Edward Earl Chinnock around 1936. They had one son, Edward Earl, named after his father. However, they soon divorced. She and little Edward moved back to Tyler, Texas to live with her mother, Rivvie, and next door to her brother, William and his family. Her sister-in-law, Bettie Beasley-Stamps, watched little Edward as she worked at the famous Blackstone Hotel in downtown Tyler as a stenographer.

Maxine died from a long bout with cancer in Tyler, Texas at Mother Frances Hospital.
