Montpelier, Bear Lake county, Idaho obituariesTHANIEL BIRDThaniel Bird, age 82, died Dec. 2, 1991, at the Bear Lake Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility.He was born Aug. 6, 1909, in Paris, to John Henry and Ettie Rebecca Nate Bird. He married Helen Grace Settle Jan. 7, 1933, in Paris.He was a member of the LDS Church. He lived in Paris and Montpelier all of his life, except for six months spent in Henderson, Nv. He was employed at the Old Red Flour Mill in Paris Canyon, and spent the next several years driving for the Bear Lake Stage bus line and Wycoff Trucking. He then managed the Montpelier Hotel until his retirement. After retiring, he accepted part-time employment as the site manager of the bear Lake County Senior Citizens' Center.He is survived by his wife of Montpelier; two sons, T. Deverl of Montpelier and William T. of Layton, Ut.; two brothers, Weyn of Paris and Floyd of Montpelier; three sisters, Genevieve Jewell, Anona Grandy and Blythe Orr, all of Montpelier; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald S., his parents, one brother, Kenneth, and one sister, Lavilla.Funeral services were held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Matthews Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
