Mrs. Theresa Bowman Stanley, age 57 of Ararat, VA passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011. Mrs. Stanley was born in Patrick County January 1, 1954 to the late Perry and Mary Alice Harold Bowman. She was an in home sitter and attended Doe Run Baptist Church. Mrs. Stanley is survived by four sisters and a brother-in-law, Etta Stanley and Effie Sawyers both of Ararat, Edith and Arville Sawyers of High Point, and Elaine Draughn of Mt. Airy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Malcom and Mary Bowman, Clyde and Angelena Bowman all of Ararat, Joe Bill and Maxine Bowman of Gastonia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by her husband, Darryl Wayman Stanley and two brothers, Glen and Marvin Bowman. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Doe Run Baptist Church by Rev. Terry Vaughan and Rev. Matt Goins with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
