Buckland - Mrs. Alma (Ward) Shippee, 36, lifelong resident and wife of Clifton W. Shippee, of Charlemont Rd., died Thursday evening in Franklin County Public Hospital, Greenfield. Born in Buckland, Sept. 23, 1930, the daughter of Nelson E and Blanche E (Wilder) Ward, she was a 1948 graduate of Arms Academy and was married to Clifton W. Ward [sic] on June 4, 1950. She was a member of Mary Lyon Church, a former member of the Grange and had served on the board of registrars for voters for many years. Besides her husband, she leaves her parents, also of Charlemont Rd.; a daughter at home; two sisters; four brothers, and several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. The funeral will be Sunday at 2.30 at Smith funeral home, Shelburne Falls, with Rev. Eric Bascom of Mary Lyon Church and Rev. Henry Bartlett of Charlemont officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are tonight from 7 to 9.
