The Late Geo W. Deems was Honored by all who knew him.
The impressive ritual of the Masonic order marked the last services over the remains of the late George W. Deems, at the side of the open grave at Beallsville, Saturday. It was fitting that the mortal remains of the deceased should be taken back where he had spent many active years and where he was honored by all who knew him.
Twelve members of the Jacques de Mclay commandery, Knights Templar, Washington, escorted the body from Washington, and the same number of members of the St. Onmer commandery, of Brownsville, met them at Beallsville. By request of the river delegation, the Washington Knights had charge of the last sad rites, those taking part being Eminent Commander J. W. Wallace and Acting Prelate R. W. Mason. All who have know the deceased have only words of admiration for his sterling worth. He was upright in all the relations of life, was an earnest Christian man and the friend of every movement that was for the betterment of the community where he had made his home
