Maria was a devout Catholic who demonstrated vast efforts in helping and supporting the church and her parish, Assumption. At times she seemed tireless in her aid to Assumption Catholic School. She helped in school festivals, fund raisers and community projects. She supported many church functions and also sang praise to the Lord in the church choir.
Her neighbors and friends knew they could always count on her. When a person in need sought her help, her good deeds included; making food for them, visiting them, providing a listening ear, or providing sound guidance. Her door was always open to those who needed a hot meal or a place to stay.
Although Maria never drove, she loved to be on the move. She loved traveling and discovering new places with her husband and family. In her younger years, she was employed at a drapery shop in order to make a better life for her family. Later in life, she, along with her husband worked as motion picture-extras in Hollywood. She also participated in television commercials, magazines and billboards.
Family was Maria's biggest treasure. She loved to have her entire family gather for family meals, to celebrate special occasions, or just because. Maria left behind her grieving husband, seven children, twelve grandchildren, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her benevolent and outgoing nature and kind spirit will be etched in all of the lives she came to touch.
