Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Burial with military honors presented by American Legion Post 569/200 and VFW Post 1303 will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Rock Island, where he was a member.
Harry was born April 30, 1930, in Brazil, Iowa, son of William Wakefield and Caddy Grace Stargell Wakefield. He married Miyako Uenaka in 1948 in Japan.
Harry was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was employed with the Rock Island Arsenal for many years. He traveled all over the world while working for the U.S. government. He also was a licensed auto dealer and enjoyed buying and selling cars. His other interests included music.
Harry is survived by his companion, Miyako; brothers, Clarence Wakefield, Davenport, Bobby Wakefield and Everett Wakefield, both of Centerville; sisters, Sarah Hanson, Milan, Alice Stewart, Longview, Wash., and Ruth Benz, Centerville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ersel and Harold; and four sisters, Lena, Anna, Irene and Marie.
