In 1900 Mr. Furst moved to Brainard where he made his home since. They were blessed with eight children, five of which are still living.
He was a chipper foreman in the Parker and Topp-ing Foundry for about 20 years, from 1901 until the foundry was closed, later he was employed at the Northwest Paper Mill.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Clara and five children, Val Jr., of Ellensburg, Wash.; Mike of Muskegon, Mich.; Mrs Leona Welch of Lewiston, Montana, Miss Cecilia of Brainerd and Edward of Auburn, California. He is a grandfather of 6, Mrs Peggy and Clara Furst, Eddie and Billie Furst, and Jimmie and Genevieve Welch. He also leaves one brother Joe Furst and sisters, Mrs. Mollie Motchenbacher of Barnesville and Mrs Josephine Westline of Bemidji.
Mr. Furst health started failing last May when he seeked care under Dr. Thabes. On November 11, he was taken to St Joseph's hospital were he spent three weeks. According to his wishes he was taken home where he was confined until death caused his departure. Three days before his death, a consultation was held between his previous Doctors and Dr. Jamieson who said nothing more could be done. His wife, son Val and daughter Cecilia were at his bedside when he passed on.
Funeral service will be held at St. Francis Church. Father Hogan officiating at 8 a.m. Saturday February 4th, 1933. Internment at the Evergreen Cemetery.
