John P. Young, 79, of Rt. 1, LaVernia, died Saturday, December 28, 1968, in a San Antonio Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer.

Funeral Services were held Monday, December 30, 1968, at 2 P.M. in the Goetz Memorial Chapel with Rev. Otto Gelke, of the Elm Creek Luthern Church, officiating. Interment was in the Post Oak Cemetery.

Decedent is survived by five sons, Alvin, Alfred, Harold, and Wilbert, all of San Antonio, and Daniel of La Vernia; two daughters, Mrs. Oscar Duelm of LaVernia, and Mrs. Milton Doege of Seguin; eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two brothers, Joe Young of Seguin, and Charlie Young of San Antonio and two sisters, Mrs. Stella Krenz of San Antonio and Mrs. Eddie Vorpahl of Seguin, also survive him.

Pall bearers were Oscar Linne, Herny Schievelbein, Harry Schraub, Alfred Doege, Ernest Mattke and Ed Lee.

Homonary Pallbearers were: Robert Young, Milton Young, Alvin Young Jr., Douglas Young, James Fanick, David Doege and Alfred Scrimpsher.
