"Albert Jackson Griffith, 77, Valliant, died at approximately 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home on a Valliant rural route. Born March 19, 1895, in Texas, he had been a resident of Valliant about two years, moving from Coleman, Texas. He was a retired farmer and rancher. Survivors include eight sons, Luther and John of Midland, Texas; Curtis of Fort Worth, Texas; Frank of Zephyr, Texas; James of Weatherford, Texas; Lloyd and Jackie, both of Valliant; six daughters, Mrs. Imogene Keeney of Abilene, Texas; Mrs. Mary Keeney of Fort Worth, Texas; Mrs. Reba Neeley of Paris, Texas; Mrs. Rita Copeland of San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Lillie Cartright of Shreveport, Louisiana; and Mrs. Lois Thunderbird (sic) of Sweetwater, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Alice McNeiland of Snyder, Texas; 34 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. The body is being returned today to Coleman, Texas, where funeral arrangements will be announced by the Stevens Funeral Home.
