Richard ‘Kelly' Clore

Richard "Kelly" Clore, 67, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, July 15, at his home.

He was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Chicago to the late Charles and Marcella (McHenry) Clore. Kelly graduated from Aurora High School in 1962 and received a bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1966 from Franklin College and a master's degree in 1972 from Purdue University.

He was a teacher and coach at Perry Meridian High School for 28 years until his retirement in 2001.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Babbitt) Clore; two sisters, Susan Namei of Cincinnati and Kathy Hayes of Moores Hill; two sons, Charles T. Clore II of Dodgeville, Wis., and Todd M. Clore of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Robin Chester of Muncie; and nine grandchildren, Erica Tompkins, Ashley Weeks, Oliver Tompkins, Roamyn Grant, Tanner Clore, Hayden Clore, Taylor Clore, Jordan Clore and Brandon Clore.

A memorial service will be conducted from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Valle Vista Golf Club, 755 E. Main St., Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kelly Clore Scholarship Fund for a scholarship at Perry Meridian, 700 Leland St., New Castle, IN 47362.
