Leander Walker Bare, Age 88, of Crumpler, died Tuesday morning, January 4, at Ashe Living Center.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 7 at 11 a.m. at Senter Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Bobby Absher. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, January 6 at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Bare was born in Ashe County on Thursday, July 27, 1916 to the late Hiram Gratsy Bare and to the late Mertie Ann Bare.
He is survived by a brother, Burrell S. Bare, of Jefferson; a sister Mabel Phillips of West Jefferson; a sister in law, Hazel Bare of Crumpler also survives.
