Paul Harvey Bare, age 84, of Crumpler, died Wednesday night, April 28 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 2 at 2 p.m. at Senter Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Bobby Absher and Elder James McNeill. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 1 at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Bare was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, February 18, 1920 to the late Hiram Gratsy Bare and the late Mertie Ann Bare. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an agricultural farmer. He was a member and served as a deacon at Senter Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Phillips Bare of the home, a son, Paul Bare Jr. and wife Nancy of Crumpler; two brothers, Burrell Bare and wife, Helen of Jefferson and Walker Bare of Crumpler; a sister, Mabel Phillips of Fleetwood; two grandchildren, Nicole Bare of Winston Salem and Jerry Bare of Crumpler and several nieces and nephews.
