In Memory of Jacob Brewer Sr.,b. 24 Aug. 1773,d.18 Jan 1856. Aged 82 yrs 4 months 25 days. He was probably born in Bethel Township, Lancaster County, PA, because his father was on the tax rolls there in that year, but it was shortly thereafter that the family moved to Washington County, Maryland. He married Mary Angle, daughter of Henry Angle, a resident of Washington County at an unknown date. As were most of the family at that time, Jacob was a farmer, and about 1798 he moved to Franklin County, Pennsylvainia settling on a farm about two miles south of Mercersburg. Although in another state, this was only about ten miles north of the Clearspring area where most of the rest of the Maryland branch had settled. They had eleven children:

3.Jacob b. 27 Aug 1801
4.Henry b. 24 Aug. 1803-
5.Elizabeth b.25 Feb 1806 in Franklin Co. d. 1882 in Mercersburg, Franklin Co. She m. Cap't John B. Cushwa, son of Capt David and (perhaps Catherine) Resley of MD on 8 Feb. 1830.
6.Joseph P. b. 11 Mar 1808
7.John T. b. 1809
8.Maria b. 28 July 1811 in Franklin Co. m. Daniel Reichard on 13 Dec 1832. They went west and he d. in ST. Joseph, MO. on 1 Feb. 1860 having been born in 1808.
9.Susan b. 14 Dec. 1814 in Franklin Co. Pa . m. Lazarus Kennedy and they lived near Greencastle, Pa.
10. Catharine b. 11 Nov. 1816 in Frankilin Co. She m. George A. Sweigert of Franklin Co. Pa.
11. George W. b. 5 Sept. 1819.
