Mrs. Evelyn Bell
Mrs. Evelyn Olevia Bell, 86, who resided at 241 Washington St., died Sunday, Dec. 29, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Charles Franklin "Chinkie" Bell.
Born in Frederick, April 22, 1905, Mrs. Bell was a daughter of the late Sourren L. And Rose Mullican Welty.
Mrs. Bell had been employed for many years by the Muse Tailoring Co. and later retired from the Frederick County Board of Education Food Services at the Washington Street School. She also was employed for many years by the F.O.E. 687, Frederick.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the auxiliary of F.O.E. 687, Frederick.
Surviving are seven sisters, Mrs. Mary Valentine of Waynesboro, Mrs. Rebecca Davis of Dickerson, Mrs. Thelma Tracey of Sykesville, and Mrs. Jenny Marshall, Mrs. Helen Norris, Mrs. Mildred J. Klipp and Mrs. Catherine B. Eyler, all of Frederick; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert M. Welty and Sourren Welty, and two sisters, Mrs. Grace A. Roelke and Ruth Ramsburg.
The family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, from Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Manthey, pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
