Mrs. Rebecca Davis
Mrs. Rebecca Virginia Davis, 95, of 190 Key Parkway, Frederick, died Tuesday, June 1, at College View Center.
She was the wife of the late Samuel Edward Davis Jr.
Born April 22, 1904, in Frederick, she was a daughter of the late Sourren and Rosa Mulligan Welty.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was a member of Forest Grove United Methodist Church.
She was a life member of the Auxiliary to the Carroll Manor Fire Co.
Surviving are one son, William E. Davis and wife Ruth of Adamstown; one daughter, Anna Rose Smith of Frederick; four sisters, Mary Valentine of Waynesboro, Pa., and Mildred Klipp, Helen Norris and Catherine Eyler, all of Frederick; two sisters-in-law, Gladys and Jennieve Welty, both of Frederick; six grandchildren, Deborah Powers of Frederick, Anita Higy and husband Charles of Akron, Ohio, Diana Fath and husband Michael of Mogadore, Ohio, and Patricia and Douglas Davis, and Matthew Davis and wife Janis, all of Frederick; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Ralph L. Smith; two brothers, Sourren Jr. and Robert Welty; and five sisters, Ruth Ramsburg, Jennie Marshall, Thelma Tracey, Grace Roekly and Evelyn Bell.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, where funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, June 4. The Rev. Susan Hunt, pastor of Forest Grove United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will be in Koontz Chapel Cemetery, Adamstown.
