Griffith was a surveyor, clerk, and scholar. He bought about 500 acres in Hilltown Township, Bucks County where he lived and died. He was Captain of one of the companies of Bucks County "Associators," 1747-48, enlisted in the time of the old French War. The sword which he had worn as a soldier was transmitted as a legacy to his decendants.
In 1749 he was chosen a member of the Colonia Assembly from Bucks County and served in that position until 1759. The stones of Ebenezer and some of his family are near the Montgomery Baptist Church at Colmar. Griffith and Margrot (Margaret) are supposed to have been buried in this churchyard. However, the stones do not remain to identify the spot.

This was copied out of the Perry Review from the chapter called The Owen Family. It was written by Grandmother Elsie Stine Lebo in 1981.
