Oscar Stevens Died From Slight Wound
Special to The Tribune.
Hinton, Ia., April 3--Oscar Stevens, the 17 year-old son of Edward Stevens, of Hungerford township, died yesterday from the effects of a wound in the knee, received while out hunting ducks and the funeral will be held Sunday at 10 o'clock in the morning.
While creeping up on a bunch of ducks the boy struck his knee against the hammer of the gun, breaking the skin and inflicting what seemed to be a slight injury, but a few days later the wound became inflamed and he sought a physician's help. The wound did not yield to treatment, but developed in partial paralysis and finally tetanus which resulted in the death of the boy.
