Nettie was a daugher of Edward "Ned" and Margaret (Richards) Stephens. She was the sister of: Maud, Johnnie, Hester, Edward H. and Oscar. She was married to Joseph W. Luksan on February 29, 1892 in Woodbury County, Iowa. They had the following children: William, Irma J., Maudie, Elmer E., Nettie and Ida.The Sioux City Journal Sunday March 29, 1925

HEART ATTACK PROVES FATAL

Mrs. Nettie Luksan Dies- Had Resided Here for 15 Years.

Mrs. Nettie Luksan, 52 years old, a resident of Sioux City for the past 15 years, died of an attack of heart disease Thursday morning at her home, 621 Virginia street. Mrs. Luksan had been in failing health for some time.

Mrs. Luksan was born in Wisconsin, September 21, 1872, and at the age of 2 years came to Iowa with her parents and settled on the farm near Hinton. She lived near Hinton until 1910.

Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Charles Sharrer, Mrs. C. E. Carlson, Mrs. J. C. Dill, Mrs. Walter Papke, Maud and Bell Luksan of Sioux City, and Mrs. Margaret Watland of Burbank, Cal., and three sons, Elmer, William, and Oscar of Sioux City.

The body is at Anderson's undertaking parlor pending funeral arrangements.

Luksan-- Funeral Services for Mrs. Nettie Luksan, 52 years old, a resident of Sioux City for the past 15 years, who died of an attack of heart disease at her home Thursday morning, will be held at the Methodist Church at Hinton, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Internment will be at the Lincoln Cemetery at Hinton. Anderson's Undertaking establishment is in charge of arrangements.
