Mary Helen Pendergrass, 86, passed away March 7, 2011 at 2:30 a.m. in Colonial Oaks Healthcare Facility
She was born on July 15, 1924 in Sims Indiana to the late Major and Alta (Carmichael) Martin. Mary was a graduate of Swayzee High school. She married Eugene Pendergrass, who preceded her in death, on August 17, 1946. She loved to cross-stitch and bake. Her favorite time for baking was Christmas; she would bake Christmas cookies and pass them out to her family and friends. Mary also enjoyed attending "Cowboy Church" at Grace Community Church. Mary will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Susan) Pendergrass, Ft. Wayne and Ed (Angie)Pendergrass, Moorehead, Ky.; brother, Robert (Norma) Martin, Herbst, Ind.; sisters, Wanda Smith, Marion; Wilma (Rick) Frazee, Albany; grandchildren, Laura Pendergrass, Fishers, Leigh (James) O'Brien, Seattle, Washington, Amy Harris, Ft. Wayne, Jeff, Portmouth, Ohio, Jill (Rodney) Winters, Huntington, West Virginia, Jere (Kat) Chesapeake, Ohio; Brittany Easterling, Moorehead, Ky.; 15 great-grandchildren, special friends, Diane Simons, Marion and Becky Sollars, Marion.
Mary was also preceded in death by her brother, Clifford Martin and her sister, Vivian Tesdahl.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the Marion Chapel of Owen- Weilert- Duncan, 2722 S. Washington St. Marion, Indiana. Dr. Thomas Mansbarger will officiate.
