Mrs. Ellis was born on March 3, 1918 and remained a lifelong resident of Mitchell County and spent her retirement years living at Lake Colorado City. She was an active member of the Plainview Church of Christ of Colorado City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, T.C. and Alley Hart; her sisters, Juanita Coker, Ruth Barber, Lucille Billings; and her brother, Lloyd Hart.
She leaves behind her husband, Leo D. "Buck" Ellis; daughter, Jean Broughton of Big Spring; grandson, Casey Wilder and daughter, Kyla of Houston; grandson, Scott Wilder and wife, Alicia and granddaughter, Alexandra of Dallas.
Her friends and family, who will serve as honorary pallbearers, called her "Nan".
The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
