James Patterson Ainsworth, the second son of Lovick Rochel Ainsworth and Martha Jane Ainsworth, was born in Howard county, Missouri, just 2 years after the end of the Civil War. He married Margaret Matilda Loggans 25 May 1891 in Lafayette county, Missouri. They had 4 children, Virgil James, Ernest, Ora May, and Edgar Lee. After giving up farming in the early 1900's, James moved to Kansas City where he resided for about 45 years.
