Bessie was born to Eugene W. Ables, Sr. and Laura (Cheadle) Ables; the seventh of nine children:
Leonard Carl, Ethyl May, Richard Holgate, Ora Ellen, Geneva Maureen, Harold Cheadle, Bessie Ellen, Eugene Walter, Jr., and Cyril Louis.

Bessie was the wife of Kenneth T. Price, preceding him in death by eleven years. She was the loving mother of two children; Arla June (Price) Blake, and Glenn Elwin Price. She was survived by siblings; Walter E. Ables, Jr., Dick H. Ables, and Ora E. Laumann. Bessie was the proud, loving and doting grandmother of Kenny Price.
Bessie was also survived by nieces; Beverly (Ables) Adkins, Ruth (Ables) Hemler, Jane (Ables) Williston and nephews, Norman E. Ables and Meldon E. Ables.
