"WILLIAMS BAY PIONEER DIES AT AGE OF 91 YEARS -- Mrs. Julia Sullivan Kenyon, oldest in years of residence in Williams Bay and one of Walworth County's oldest residents in age, died Sunday, July 18, aged 91 years and nine months. Mrs. Kenyon was born in the Town of Darien, Oct. 31, 1856, the oldest daughter of Thomas and Margaret Sullivan. When she was a child, her parents moved to a farm two and one-half miles North of Walworth. She attended the first school in Fontana. She was married to Richard M. Kenyon Oct. 11, 1891. On Jan 2, 1892, they moved to Williams Bay, where they built on Walworth Avenue, the third house in what is now Williams Bay village. Mrs. Kenyon would have lived in her present home 50 years in August. She saw Williams Bay and the lake region develop into one of the Midwest's most popular playgrounds Mr. Kenyon died April 13, 1941. She leaves three children, Mrs. Louis Heiden, Harvard; Henry of Williams Bay and Richard at home. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, at the home and at St. Benedict's Catholic Church at Fontana. Burial was at St. Andrews cemetery, Delavan."
