THURE ANDERSON
STRATFORD - Thure G. Anderson, 75, a longtime Stratford area resident, died at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames Wednesday, where he had been admitted earlier in the day.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Anton Youngquist officiating and with burial in South Marion Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Hanson-Stark-Welin funeral home in Stratford from Friday afternoon until 11 a.m. when the body will be taken to the church.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha, of Stratford; two brothers, John Anderson of Stratford and Ludvig, in Sweden, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother.
He was born July 3, 1896, in Sweden. On Feb. 4, 1922 he was married to Bertha Anderson at Waterloo, Iowa. He farmed for a number of years in the Stratford area, then became owner of the Anderson Hardware and Implement Co. in Stratford which he operated until his retirement.
He was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church, the Stratford Masonic Lodge and the Boone County Shrine Club.
