Albin C. Anderson

Funeral services for Albin C. Anderson were held Saturday, Nov. 29, 1958, with a Prayer Service at the Hanson Funeral home at 1:30 p.m. for the family. Mrs. Arthur Larson and Mrs. Matt Hotchkiss sang a vocal duet accompanied by Mrs. Youngstrom. Services followed at 2 p.m. at the Mission Covenant Church with the Rev. Harry Dau in charge, assisted by Rev. Abraham of Pilot Mound, and Rev. Youngstrom of Dayton. Two vocal duets were sung by Mrs. Arthur Larson and Mrs. Matt Hotchkiss, accompanied by Mrs. Leroy Johnson.

Pallbearers were Delmar Johnson, Gunnar Harmon, Lawrence Nystrom, Charles Anderson, Lehman Anderson, and Merrill Manson. Burial was at the Hardin Township cemetery.

Carl Albin Anderson, son of Anders M. and Kristine Anderson, was born Oct. 17, 1890 in Odensvi, Småland, Sweden and died Nov. 25, 1958 at the age of 68 years, 1 month, and 8 days.

He came to America, April 19, 1910 and settled in Boone County.

On April 14, 1915, he was united in marriage to Anna Swanson and they moved to a farm in Webster County, where they were living at the time of his death. Three sons and three daughters were born to this union.

Mr. Anderson was confirmed in the Odensvi Church in Odensvi, Småland, Sweden. He was converted in cottage meetings around Stratford, under the ministry of Rev. Astin Kindred in March, 1930. He joined the Swede Bend Evangelical Covenant Church in 1931. The following year he was elected chairman and served the church faithfully.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and one sister, Ellen Anderson.

Survivors include his widow, Anna; two sons, Arvid of Radcliffe, Ia., and Paul of Vinton; three daughters, Evelyn Kail of Hayward, Calif., Helen Nelson of Huron, S.D., and Alice at home; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Ludwig in Sweden, John and Thure of Stratford; a niece and nephew and a host of friends.
