"Beco" ['little white dog flower' - in Chinese] was born in Kuling, China. Her parents Dr. William James Hail* [1877/1963] and Alice Inghram* [1883/1970], were Cumberland Presbyterian Missionaries attached to Yale University in China [Changsha]. Was a twin of Alicia Gordon* (Lawrie)Fabens [1917/1996] and had an elder sister Elisabeth ["Tibby"]* (Edward) Quinby [1915/74] and younger brother William J. [1922]. Returned to Wooster, OH, USA when she was 8 yo. Graduated from Wooster H.S. [1935], earned her BA in 3 years from Wooster College then was granted an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts Univ. in MA. Taught history at Wooster HS [1939/47] and later at the Merion Mercy Academy in Merion Station, PA [1966/82]. Married Richard Dudley Jordan III on 8/16/47 in Wooster, OH. Mother of 3; Richard D. Jordan IV [9/9/48], the infant William James Hail* Jordan [b 1/25/51, d5/15/51] and Victoria "Tori" Alicia (Paul) Riegert [7/23/52].
