Mary Delphia Fansler Anderson, age 78, Surgoinsville, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Church Hill Health Care Center following an extended illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by many. She was a charter member of Looneys Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Anderson; three sons, Homer Anderson, and two infant sons; parents, Marvin and Effie Allen Fansler; and a brother, Avery Fansler.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Arnold, Surgoinsville, Ruby Housewright, Surgoinsville, and Dorothy Mullins, Rogersville; three sons, Don Anderson, Kingsport, Delmar Anderson and Doyle Anderson, both of Surgoinsville; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sylvia Hurd, Mt. Carmel, Velma Reed, Church Hill, and Dorothy Meade, Kingsport; a brother, M.C. Fansler, Church Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. Friends may also call anytime at the residence, 112 Simmons Road.
Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home Chapel of Church Hill, with Revs. Alvin Skelton and Edward Johnson officiating.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at Bethel Church Cemetery in Stanley Valley.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Watkins, Ricky Housewright, Kevin Arnold, Scott Anderson, Rodney Russell and Paul Lewis.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill is in charge of arrangements.
