Dwain E. Byington
NAMPA - Memorial services for Dwain Elliot Byington, 63, of Route 5, Nampa, who died Tuesday at a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Nampa First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by Bishop Jerry Hess, under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel.
He was born on Aug. 1915, at Downey, where he was reared and educated. He entered the Army on May 18, 1942, and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 11, 1945. He married Grace Pearl Hall on May 1, 1947, at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Bancroft, where he worked in the cattle industry until October 1955, when they moved to Melba. They moved to Nampa in 1958, where they had since resided. He went to work for Minor Sales and Leasing Inc. in Nampa in 1958. He was a member of the Nampa First LDS Ward.
Surviving are his wife of Nampa; two sons. Ed and Bill, both of Nampa; two daughters, Mrs. Lee (Diane) Nichols of Caldwell and Phyllis Byington of Orem, Utah; three brothers, Vernon of Logan, Utah, Donald of Brigham City, Utah, and Melvin of Green River, Wyo.; six sisters, Mrs. Ruby John and Mrs. Lila Coburn, both of Brigham City, Mrs. Laurna Taylor of Meridian, Mrs. Ruth Hayes of Boise, Mrs. Delda Munro of Orvada. Nev., and Mrs. Nona Hubbard of Ogden, Utah; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
