LIFE LONG RESIDENT DIES UNEXPECTEDLY - Jack Campbell is Buried at Liberty Church Sunday Afternoon. Jackson Morris Campbell, life long resident of Belle, died unexpectedly at his home here early Friday morning, January 15, 1937. He was 74 years, 7 months and 17 days old. He was born May 28, 1862, son of Morris and Nancy Terrill Campbell. He married Bell Joyce, August 5, 1891. To this union was born three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Travis, of Chicasha, Okla., and Misses Marie and Jewell Campbell of St. Louis. Besides his wife and daughters, he leaves a son in law, Dr. W.C. Travis of Chickasha, Okla; three grandchildren, Carl, Carol and Ethel Joyce Travis, three half brothers, Scott, Wallace and Bony Campbell, and two half sisters, Mrs. Ed. Stockton and Mrs. Ed Bailey. Those who preceded him in death were one grandchild, Marjorie Fae Travis, his parents, and two half brothers and four half sisters. He confessed Christ and was baptised by Bro. Houston Ferrell, an uncle of the present Brother Ferrell, during a meeting at the "Old Frame Church" when he was 31 years old. He lived a faithful Christian life for some 43 years.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the home by Bro. E. Lacy Porter to the Liberty Church of Christ. Mrs. Campbell was unable to attend the church services. A large number was in attendance many from a distance. The floral offering was beautiful. Honorary pallbearers were E. Luster, Tom Danuser, Jesse Travis, Tom Cook, Crissie Danuser and Roy Branson. Active pallbearers were six nephews: Charles and Albert Campbell, Rainey Stockton, Oscar Bailey, Charles Joyce and Joe Byrnes. Burial was in the cemetery at Liberty.

MRS. CAMPBELL IMPROVING - Mrs. Jack Campbell was able to sit up some today for the first time since the knowledge of her husband's death early last Friday morning. The shock was too severe. Dr. and Mrs. W.C. Travis left last night for their home in Oklahoma. Miss Marie returned to St. Louis yesterday afternoon. (from contributor, J. German)
