Frances Silina Thompson was born in Livingston County, Missouri, to Morris Kincaid Campbell and Frances Ann "Fanny" Stockton on May 3, 1848. George Scott Campbell would join the family on November 10, 1850. Shortly after George's birth the family moved to Maries County, Missouri, which was to be home base for Morris and Silina. Two more children, Parthena in 1851 and John S. Campbell in 1854, would join the Campbell Family. Tragedy would befall the family when Fanny died on July 16, 1857. Silina would marry James H. Thompson in 1868 in Maries County. They would be the parents of Martha Frances Thompson Hughes (1868-1946), Rolla James Thompson (1871-1956), John Westley Thompson (1877-1900). The family farmed until the Thompson children sought their own futures.
