Margaret was the daughter of Charles Quinn and Ann Jane Locke. She was the last of five children, the others being born in Ireland.

Margaret married John Gillon, son of Thomas Gillon and Euphemia McDonald Cronin, on February 2, 1869, in Glasgow, Scotland.
Their children:
Thomas Quinn Gillon (Died young)
Charles Gillon (Agnes Galbraith Hay)
Ann Jane Gillon (David Armstrong)
Euphemia Gillon (Marcus Dods Scott)
Margaret Gillon (Died young)

Margaret's Burial record:
St. Peter's Cemetery in Dalbeath, Common Ground, died of inflamation; buried 14 August, age 31 (Mitchell Library, Glasgow:St. Peter's Cemetery, Common Burial Ground 1863-1886) I visited this very place in September of 2011 and was shown this burial ground by the caretaker who had been there for many years. All of the Quinns were buried in this place that is shown in the picture. (BGL)

After Margaret's death in 1880, John Gillon married Elizabeth Kernachan in 1882 and they also had 5 children:
Mary Stuart Gillon (John Speirs)
John Gillon (Bridget McDermott)
Sarah Kernachan Gillon (Died young)
Helen Munro Gillon (Walter Murnin)
Robert Gillon (Died young)

Elizabeth raised her own five children plus Margaret's children who were still living. She died in 1909 and John died in 1913 in Glasgow. They were living on Rose Street in Govan, a Parish of Glasgow. Burial place for John and Elizabeth is unknown, but it is probably in Glasgow.
