Odum, Bardwell DeWitt Age 91, died in Dallas, Texas on May 20, 2010. He was born on May 31, 1918 in Fort Worth, TX. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1934, where he met the love of his life, Mildred Lucille Cocke. He attended Lon Morris Junior College and The University of Texas, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1940. He was a lifelong runner and competed as a member of The University of Texas track team. He served 26 years as a special agent in the FBI. He loved the FBI and had numerous interesting stories to tell. After his retirement in 1968, he practiced law for many years, mainly as chief counsel for the Gibson Discount Corporation. The legal work at Gibson was challenging and he was highly successful, enjoying a mutual respect and admiration with the Gibsons. He also enjoyed traveling all over the world with Mildred and family. He was a member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. He is survived by 4 children: Anne Wilkins Odum Stoops(Glenn); Charles Bardwell Odum(Gloria); Margaret Eugenia Odum Frindell (Wayne); and Jeanne Elizabeth Odum Cain. Also survived by 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Arthur Milton Odum and William Thomas Odum. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Lucille Cocke Odum, and a son David Keith Odum. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, May 28, 2010 in Wildwood Chapel at Restland Cemetery.
