Elice was born 1 January, 1858, in Allegan, Michigan, to Gurdin Noyce and Destemona Eva Wilson Kenyon. She married John Oliver Cline on 1 January 1884, in Goleta, Santa Barbara, Calif. John's name had been John Oliver Klinefelter prior to the marriage, but Elice wouldn't marry him until he changed it. John Oliver was known as "Ollie". On his records filed for his Civil War pension, it states Klinefelter, Oliver, now known as Cline, Oliver, with his dependent as Elice C. Cline.
Ollie and Elice were the parents of: Alvin B, and Sherman Gurdin Cline.
