Willis C. Parker, of Chesterton, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso. He was 87.
He was born Feb. 11, 1917 in Waverly (Chesterton), the son of Amon C. and Frances B. (Skedel) Parker, both of whom preceded him in death.
On April 9, 1939 in Chesterton he married Georgia Mae (Fuller) Parker, who survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Kenneth (Vicki) Parker of San Diego, Calif., Keith (Vanessa) Parker of Chesterton and Kevin (Julie) Parker of Westville; six daughters, Norma (Karl) Himmel of Porter, Carol (Paul) Pinkley of Ariz., Rebecca (Frank) Heiner of Chesterton, Betty Parker of Chesterton, Sue (Jay) Ogle of Valparaiso, Patricia Parker of Dallas, Texas and Judy Dever of Chesterton; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by infant daughters, Mary and Barbara; brother Marvin Parker and sister Virginia M. Coleman.
He was a life long resident. He retired after 25 years as a plasterer for Indiana HOD Carriers. He was a member of Lighthouse Christian Center. He graduated from Chesterton High School in 1936 and was a charter member of Chesterton Assembly of God (Lighthouse Christian Center).
