Sarah PARKS, born in St. Joseph county, IN, March 5, 1848, departed this life on Wed, Feb 28, 1923 at her Fairview farm home in Spring Hill township. Her husband, the late Horace PARKS, preceded in death to the Great Beyond June 1, 1918.
She was the mother of six children, three of whom died in infancy, and three of whom survive. Those living are: Seth Miner, Wade R. of Plains, Montana, and Isaac KANE of South Bend, Indiana.
Mr. and Mrs. PARKS emigrated to and settled on this farm , 6 miles south and one half miles west of Olathe, in 1872. She was a charter member of the Ocheltree Grange, no. 468, in which order she retained her active membership and interest throughout her life.
Funeral services were held at the home.
