Joseph Floyd, was born October 26, 1878 in Fennyville Community, Lincoln County, Arkansas, to the late Charles Vannah Newman, Sr. and Elvira Malissa Reynolds Newman.
Preceding him in death was his, parents, first wife: Vergie Mae Spears Newman, a daughter Julia Marie Newman Hand.
Survivors: Four Daughters: Effie Harriet Newman Welch, of Sapula, Oklahoma, Lucy Eliva Newman Clark, of El Dorado, Arkansas, Sue Melisa "Toad" Newman Pike, Sapula, Oklahoma Ruby Mae Newman, of Rison, Three Sons: Stark Newman, Ralph Lee Roy,Herbert McKinley Newman. Brother: George Newman of Fennyville Community, Lincoln County, Arkansas.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, at 3 p. m. at Feenyville Missionary Baptist Church at Feenyville, by Rev. B. O. Glover.
Burial was in the Old Newman Cemetery, Hwy 212 West of Star City, Arkansas.

(1)Effie Harriet Newman Born November 5, 1905 and married J. D. Welch Oct 31, 1917 and she died July 19, 1965 in Supula, Olka.
(2) Lucy Eliva Newman Born May 9, 1908 and married Leonard Columbus Clark and she died in El Dorado, Ark and is burried in Arlington Cemetery, there.
(3) Stark Joseph Newman Born December 25,1910, and married Helen Marie Drewery on September 7, 1930 he died on March 20, 1997 @ JRMC, Jefferson County, Pine Bluff, AR. and is burried at Leek Cemetery, Lincoln County, Star City, Ar.
(4) Sue Melisa (Toad)Newman, Born March 4, 1913 and Married fist Husband John Twitty Pike and 2nd husband James Cales and died November 7, 1991 in Creek Co., Sapulpa, Olka and is burried in the New Newman Cemetery, Lincoln County, Star City AR.
(5) Julia Maie Newman, Born: March 31, 1915 and Married Robert (Bobby) Hand and died Aug. 1, 1942 in Garland County, Hot Spring, AR,
(6) Ralph LeRoy Newman Born: Feb. 2, 1920 and married Joyce Virginia Bolen on Oct, 3, 1940 and he died on June 16, 2010 and is burried in New Newman Cemetery.
Joe then remarried Ollie Stringfellow the daughter of John Clary and Sara Reaves Stringfellow and they had two children.

(2)Herbert Newman Born March 20, 1926 who married Johnnie Lee Weatherford, and Herbert died at the Star City City Nursing Home on Oct 23, 1982 and is burried in the New Newman Cemetery.
