Ruby M. Brown, age 86 of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

She was born October 26, 1929 in Kingsland, a daughter of the late Joseph Floyd Newman and Ollie Bell Reeves Newman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John E. Brown; five brothers, Herbert Newman, Roy Newman, Stark Newman, James Stringfellow and Tommy Stringfellow; and four sisters, Mattie Miller, Mary West, Laurie Mullins, and Julie Kimbrough.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a member of the First Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church.

She obtained her GED at the age of 76 and earned the Directors Award for Exemplary Devotion to Successful Pursuit of her diploma. She also earned the Sgt. Lee Hudson Memorial Award for character, patriotism and citizenship.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Brown and wife, Pat, of Hot Springs; two daughters, Cathy Glover and husband, Joe, of Watson Chapel, Sandra Dierich and husband, Erasmo, of White Hall; six grandchildren, Michelle Bates, John Scott, Terry Brown, Tracie Brown, Erica Dierich-Phillips, and Stacie Carroll; nine great grandchildren, Jadzia Bates, Makayla Bates, Shawn Welch, Hannah Scott, Kaelyn Scott, Colton Scott, Chevy Carroll, Lexi Carroll, and Dakota Mae Phillips.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday July, 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Brother Robert Cossey and Brother Randy Scott officiating.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery at Rison.

Funeral arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
