Bette was born in Sioux Falls to John (Jack) and Margaret LaCome on April 16, 1921. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen H. Brown; son, Dennis A. Brown; daughter-in-law, Ingrid Isenman Brown; brother, Eugene (Bud) LaCome; sister-in-law, Lois Westendorf LaCome; niece, Carolyn Kay LaCome and brothers-in-law Arthur Homandberg and Selmer Johnsrud.
Arlys moved to Madison in 1955 and returned to Sioux Falls in 1974. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, visiting friends in Texas and Florida and traveling to California and Arizona to be with her children and grandchildren. Prior to 1999, she lived at Waterford at All Saints in Sioux Falls. During the last fifteen years of her life she made her home at the retirement community Classic Residence by Hyatt in Scottsdale. She enjoyed an active social life at Classic Residence and loved living near her children.
Graveside services will be Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 AM at Hills of Rest, Sioux Falls. In lieu of flowers and in honor of the women in her family, please support lupus.org and glaucoma.org.
