Dewey J. B. Murphy died Saturday, April 17, at 12:30 p.m., at St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. He was 81.
Funeral services were held at Warren Meadows Funeral Chapel Monday, April 19, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Larry Laurant officiating. Burial was at Bethsadia Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
Mr. Murphy is survived by a sister, Mrs. Beulah McCormick of Shreveport; two sons, Dewey Vernon Murphy of Grand Prairie, Tex., and James R. Murphy of Shreveport; three daughters, Betty M. Jordan of Lake Charles, Mary B. Thomas of Baton Rouge, and Bobbie Fletcher, also of Lake Charles; 13 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
His pallbearers were his nephews.
