Abram Lew of Leominster, born in Poland; 80 LEOMINSTER Abram "Abe" Lew , 80 of Leominster, passed away on Monday, January 12th at his home after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Gerie (Zide); a son, Barry Lew and his wife Ruthe of Leominster; a daughter, Donna Lew-Rouleau of Leominster; a brother, Benjamin Lew of Florida; a brother-in-law, Elliott Zide and his wife Michele of Fitchburg; 4 grandchildren, Ari and Kira Lew and Joel and Max Rouleau and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in Poland, a son of Irving and Sonia (Wiadro) Lew and came to Fitchburg in 1939 when he was 11 years old. He lived many years in Leominster. He graduated from Fitchburg High School and from Bryant College. He worked as an accountant and was self employed for many years. In later years he was a permanent substitute teacher at Leominster High School. He enjoyed auctioneering, bowling, Cape Cod and most of all, spending time with his family.
He was a member of Congregation Agudat Achim, past president of B'Nai Brith and was active in Community Theater.
Funeral Services held on Wednesday, January 14th in Congregation Agudat Achim, 268 Washington St., in Leominster.
Burial in Agudas Achim Cemetery in Fitchburg.
